It is estimated that about 50 million Americans are currently suffering from the effects of high blood pressure. The effects can range from blood shot eyes, dizziness to a heart attack, stroke and death. However, thanks to herbal medicines, your blood pressure(BP) can be properly regulated and lowered. In this article I will present you with a couple of herbal remedies.

1. Lime Blossom: Hypertension can be caused by anxiety and arteriosclerosis. It is a fact that lime blossoms are great to treating these conditions. You can mis a teaspoon of dried lime blossoms in a cup of boiling water. Let the mixture sit for about ten minutes and you can strain it and drink it. This will take care of your anxiety and arteriosclerosis and the pressure in your blood will come down.

2. Garlic: Garlic is wonderful. It has many curative properties. It is great to take it daily for your heart. Garlic produces allicin when it is crushed or chopped. Allicin is known to decrease BP by up to 20 mm HG in both your diastolic and systolic pressure. So eat some crushed or powdered garlic and your will see a good change in your pressure readings.

3. Saffron: You can add this spice to your daily cooking. You can also make teat with it. The active elements in it are also proven to regulate your BP levels. The only problem with this herb is that it is expensive.

4. Ginseng: Both Asian and American ginseng work. They taste good and you can readily find it at any drug store. It is inexpensive and it is very effective. So take this as an alternative to saffron. If you would like to make tea with it, take the root and shred it. Then take half a table spoon of it and put it in a cup of water. Don’t boil it for too long, I’d say about a minute and a half should be long enough. I recommend letting it sit for 20 minutes before drinking it.

As you can see, these are good herbal ways to lower your blood pressure effectively.
